Last year when I ran for the Farmingdale School Board, I stated I wanted to get my fellow senior citizens involved with our schools. Many of you have told me you would welcome the opportunity.

I am pleased to say we are finally reaching a point in time where we can put the idea into action. When I think of the vast resources our group could bring to our youth, I am amazed this has not been put into place much sooner.

I recognize the problems associated with transportation and time, but I believe we can work something out.

You will be receiving a survey in the mail within the next couple of weeks. Please take the time to respond to this survey so we can plan a time to meet and put the power of our years of experience to work.
