The Farmingdale Boys Junior Red Sox Baseball Team ended a 7-0 playoff run with a two game sweep of the defending champion Giants at Merrit Field on June 30 and July 1. Throughout these two games the Red Sox exhibited the positive teamwork that was nurtured all season long. Each player contributed in his own way, adding to the creation of a "Little Red Machine," which after an undistinguished 4-4 start, ended up 9-5-1 in the regular season before streaking to the Farmingdale Boys Junior World Series title.
