Thirsty Beverage continued their fine play with a 26-12 victory over Moby Drugs. The team was led by Billy Langdone whose career night included 8 RBIs and 4 hits. Bob D'Amico (5 for 5), Harry Sarin (4 for 5), Tom Carmada, Bob Davis and Steve Buchter led the "Red" to their fourth straight win and sets up this week 9:40 p.m. showdown with Lembo's for first place. Barboy won their third straight (3-6) as they defeated McCourt and Trudden 22-13. M & T received solid hitting from Sal Ditroia (4 hits, 3 RBIs), Tom Acuri (3 hits, 4 RBIs) and Brian Sammut (3 hits, 4 RBIs) including a long 3-run home run.

Darien Press snapped Lembo Chiropractic's 8 game win streak with a hard fought 19-18 last inning victory. Darien was led by rookie sensation Joe Cipolla (3 for 4) whose two out ninth inning hit knocked in the winning run. Joe had hit a 3-run homer to tie the game in the fifth before his last inning heroics. Bobby Schubert (4 for 4), George Krug, Jerry Murtha and Rich D'Amico all contributed to the much needed win. Tom "T" Ball made an outstanding catch in right leftfield to kill a scoring threat. Lembo's was led by Carmine Lanzaro's home run and clutchhitting by Harry Richards, Dom Bello, Larry Lembo and Billy Fitzpatrick. Down 16-10 in the top ninth, the green hitting machine reeled off hit after hit as Darien Manager Sal Gioeli choked on his unlit cigar. Two out hits by Bello and Fitzpatrick provided the lead before Darien battled back for 3 runs and the win.
