Farmingdale's Long Island Rail Road train station was the kickoff point for the Nassau part of the Paumonok Bicycling Club's Bicycle Long Island event, held on May 2, which is designed to promote bicycling on Long Island as well as educate cyclists about safety techniques.

Another Win for White Lacrosse Team
The Farmingdale PAL fourth-grade White Lacrosse Team had another strong showing by beating Sachem 7-2 in its June 6 home game. The Dalers started slowly when Sachem took a 2-0 lead by winning most ground balls and outshooting Farmingdale. With the start of the second quarter, the Dalers quickly began to attack the Sachem net. Accurate passing and numerous scoring opportunities gave Farmingdale a 2-2 tie. The next goal gave the Dalers a 3-2 lead that they never relinquished. By the end of the first half, Farmingdale was dominating and leading by a 5-2 margin.
