New Trustees to Take Their Places on School Board
The candidates in the uncontested election, which is set to take place on May 18 in conjunction with the 1999-2000 Farmingdale school budget vote, are Jane Schriro Rubinstein, a professional and parent of two children in the district, and Marie Colalucci, the director of computer education for the district who is planning to retire from that position in June.

Taxpayers in the Farmingdale School District will head to the polling booths at Howitt School next week, where they will vote on both the district's proposed $80.34 million 1999-2000 budget and three unopposed candidates for the school and library boards.

Huskies Win Girls PAL Championship
The Championship Game pitted the Knicks against the Huskies. Both teams had played their best games in the playoffs and had defeated the top two seeds on their way to the title game. The Knicks won two exciting overtime games, the semifinal was a double overtime classic. The Huskies, after a slow 3-6 start, reeled off five straight wins to reach the Championship.

PAL Junior Girls LAX Teams Score Big Victories
Bill Sutherland's fifth and sixth grade PAL team this week was the first girls team from Farmingdale to win five games with no losses. The team traveled down to Burns Park in Massapequa and edged out that team 7 to 6.
