This past weekend capped off yet another great season for two of Farmingdale's most dedicated and successful wrestlers ever.

Chris Ball and Anthony Scrimo have become Farmingdale's first six-time Nassau County Freestyle Wrestling Champions. Both of these young men also hold several Suffolk County titles and are looking toward Verona NY, where they will defend the two State Championship titles they won last year.

Despite the closing of the Farmingdale Wrestling Club's room at the FHS, which was run by William Warren and Charles Rose, these young men continue to drive themselves to become the best in the state. The talent and devotion of these young men has not gone unrecognized. Both boys have been invited to work out at a number of wrestling clubs throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Ball and Scrimo send thanks to the coaches of these clubs and feel with these opportunities they have a good chance of repeating last year's performances on the state level.

Ball will return to Syracuse with his best friend and wrestling partner, Anthony, in hopes of winning the Northeast Regional Championships where he placed third just two years ago. These young men have set goals on competing in the Nationals this year, which will be held in Waterloo, Iowa in June.

Ball's younger brother, Trevor, placed second in Nassau County with an outstanding performance, but due to age restrictions, will not compete upstate. Trevor is looking forward to joining his big brother and his friend on the trip next year.

Scrimo also has a younger brother, Thomas, who is very much looking forward to continuing his family legacy of wrestling next year.
