All Island Handicapped Sports Club's intermediate and novice teams traveled north to Waterloo, Ontario for an International Handicapped Ice Hockey Tournament, which featured 140 teams from as far away as Sweden. They are still the only sledge hockey team from NY.
The intermediate team went 3-1 just missing the medal round. Chicago went 4-0 and won it all, and beat All Island 8-6 in a real gun fight.
Island's Novice Team went 3-2 and wound up winning the silver medal. They beat the Lake Shore Bullets, the Kewanta Blazers and lst to the Huron Hawks. In the medal rounds they beat the Sarnia Ice Hawks in double overtime 2-1. In the finals, they lst again to Huron 3-2 on a goal with 20 seconds remaining in the game. The team's coaches expressed much pride in their players.
