Normally, I would not respond to the mere whining of a political adversary. However, when she states "facts" that are out and out lies and then goes on to slander and libel upstanding young members of the community, then it has gone too far.

In her letter to the editor last week, Barbara V. Bubin-Bonagura has virtually all of her "facts" incorrect. She starts off by identifying me as a Republican Executive Leader and head of NCMC's Public Benefit Corp., as though those identifications are relevant. She then says that she was in court several times and that I was the attorney for Tim Courtney, one of the young men falsely accused of damaging her property. She then alleges that in court I was "quite upset...and stated his client did nothing and the incident never happened."

The only problem is that none of that ever occurred! I am not now nor was I ever Mr. Courtney's attorney. I never appeared in court with Mr. Courtney in any capacity, nor was I even in the Court House on any of the days that he appeared. Although I agree with the statement that the incident never happened, I never made it in Court! Ms. Bubin-Bonagura's imagination is quite vivid, so that it is hardly surprising that the charges were dismissed.

Her wild imagination is no excuse for her lies about suspensions that also never occurred, and her libelous accusations about continued vandalism have as much credibility as the charges that were thrown out. She owes these two young men an apology, but I'm sure she doesn't have the maturity or honesty to give them one.

By identifying my Republican position, Ms. Bubin-Bonagura is obviously trying to turn this into some type of political vendetta, in which I refuse to engage. Ms. Bubin-Bonagura, the election is over, get over it. Republicans have lost elections without it consuming their every waking moment. Or, if you refuse to stop whining, at least try to get your facts straight.

Eric S. Rosenblum, Esq.
