Stanley Lazarus was one of the pioneers of the modern auto dealership in NY. Born in Brooklyn, he served with the 13th Air Force in the Pacific as a bombardier. After his discharge, he started a used car business in Brooklyn called Riverside Auto Sales.

With his sons, he began one of America's first Land Rover dealerships and the business would eventually own four. He sold his business to his sons, Michael and Bryan. By 1991 Saturn was added to the Lazarus family list and the business became known as the Lazarus Auto Group. Michael and Bryan Lazarus are still at the helm.
