As winter begins to fade and spring slowly approaches, the Over the Hill Gang of Farmingdale is preparing for its 24th softball season. The league welcomes Changing Times Pub, Lembo Chiropractic and Mer's Pub as new sponsors for the 1999 season.

The league will hold its annual draft on Feb. 24, at the Farmingdale Public Library. On Friday, Feb. 26, the league will hold its awards night at the Knights of Columbus Lodge, located on Morton Street and Route 109, starting at 8 p.m. All players, friends and alumni are welcome to enjoy pizza, beverages and a night of good conversation.

The league will open its season on April 16, with a full six-game schedule at Allen Park. The league noted that it is proud to sponsor their annual charity tournament with this year's recipient being the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Long Island. The tournament final and home run hitting contest are slated for Friday, Aug. 6.
