Farmingdale High School's football team, the Dalers, pulled off a decisive 28-0 win on Saturday against the Syosset Braves.
Captain Kevin Brennan rushed for 102 yards on 14 carries, scoring the first touchdown of the game and giving Farmingdale the lead.
By the end of the half, the Dalers continued to dominate the Braves with a 14-0 score, after quarterback Craig Murphy's one-yard touchdown.
The Braves could not hold Farmingdale's offensive drive in the third quarter. Mike Kluge made an outstanding catch to run for Farmingdale's third touchdown, after a 24-yard pass by Craig Murphy. Kevin Marner followed with a fourth touchdown, giving the Dalers a 28-0 win over the Braves.
Outstanding play by Rob Chechilo, Lenny Panarelli and Rob Bonagura did not go unnoticed. Kicker Frank Tiscone, too, continued his excellent record of performance.
This week's win for the Dalers came on the heels of a tough Homecoming game against Uniondale on Saturday, Oct. 24.
In that game, the Knights came out aggressive within the first three minutes of the game, and scored a touchdown. The Dalers responded quickly with a four-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Craig Murphy to Mike Scrimo. Kicker Frank Tiscone added the extra point, putting Farmingdale in the lead with a score of 7-6.
By the end of a hard fought first half, the Knights were leading 12-7. Then, on the last play of the 2nd quarter, the Dalers' Murphy launched a 33-yard touchdown pass to Mike Kluge. Tiscone again successfully kicked the extra point, bringing the score to: Farmingdale 14, Uniondale 12. However, coming out of the half, Uniondale held the Dalers and pushed through the Dalers' defense to score two more touchdowns
