The Farmingdale Flames U11 girls took 2nd place in the Northport Tournament during the Columbus Day Weekend.
The girls played very well throughout the 3-day tournament. The defense was outstanding. The players also exhibited excellent passing.
In Saturday afternoon's first game against the Stony Brook Chargers, the Farmingdale girls won 4-1. Later that afternoon, they played NCHU Barracudas, and the final score was 0-0.
Sunday's early morning game against the Plainedge Lady Riders showed what Farmingdale is made of. Using strong passing skills, the Flames won by a score of 1-0. Later that morning, they played VOB Resolution and won 3-2.
On Monday, the Flames played the NHP Thundercats. Although the Flames played hard, they lost by a score of 2-1.
The Flames received their trophies at Northport High School. Immediately following the awards, the girls left to enjoy the afternoon at Farmingdale's Columbus Day Fair.
The players' parents expressed pride in the girls, citing their hard work and improved skills, and thanked the coaches for their time and efforts.
