Last Sunday at Farmingdale's Howitt Field, the Farmingdale Hawks 11's suffered their first loss of the season to the Roosevelt Rough Riders by a score of 21 to 6. The Farmingdale boys played very well, but made a few key mistakes that led to 21 Roosevelt points.

This week, the defense was led by Nick Hecht, who racked up 13 tackles and a half sack against the Rough Riders. Next was Anthony Scrimo, who brought down 7 with one sack. Chris Ball had six tackles this week with 1 and 1/2 sacks and Ryan Bagnasco clobbered an additional 4; Chris Daro (3); Nakyle Bethay (2); Joe Doran (2); Charles Ross (2); Courtney Ohene (1); and Stephen Coulaz (1); all added to the tackling quota. Coulaz also blocked a punt in the first quarter.

The offensive leader this week was Daro, who rushed for 102 yards in 15 carries with one touchdown. Ross and Bethay carried the ball five times, each for an additional 16 yards. Ross also caught a pass from QB Joe Roumpas for 13 yards.

Chances are these two teams will meet again in the playoffs and the coaching staff feels that the end result will be very different! As usual, many thanks to the cheerleaders and the parents for their support. The public is invited to come and cheer on the Hawks 11's in two weeks when they play the Elmont Cardinals away at 11 a.m.
