John Patrick Caulfield, of Farmingdale, died on Sept. 3, 1998. Son of George and Judith. Brother of Karen, Glenn and Chris. Arrangements were made by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home Hicksville Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Samuel Cohen, 74, of N. Massapequa, died on Sept. 7, 1998. He grew up in the Bronx and was a WWII Army veteran surviving the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from City College and earned his doctorate from Columbia University Teachers College.

Mr. Cohen taught social studies in the NYC schools and on LI eventually becoming superintendent in Lawrence. He retired in 1979 and became executive director of the NC Council of School Superintendents and the Association of Suburban Districts of NYS. He also advised agencies including the educational division of PBS Channel 13.

Mr. Cohen was the husband of Marilyn. Father of Janet Hurwitz, Alan Cohen and Charles Cohen. Grandfather of two. Arrangements were made by Gutterman's Funeral Home, Woodbury.

John Cusumano, of N. Massapequa, died on Sept. 15, 1998. Husband of Marie. Father of Gary, John, Richard and Glenn. Son of Mary. Brother of five sisters and one brother. Grandfather of seven. He was a former plan examiner for the Town of Oyster Bay, a life member and Exempt Capt. of Ladder Co. #1 and past president exempt of the Benevolent Association of the N. Massapequa Fire Dept. Husband of the late Florence. Father of Mary Anne Schiffner, Peggy Lochner, Michael and Donald. Grandmother of Theresa, Christine, Daniel, Gregory, Kaitlin, Brendan, Shannon, Kate and Sara.
