The Farmingdale Dalers Varsity Football Team defeated the Oceanside Sailors in its first game of the season. It was a landslide victory for the Dalers, defeating the Sailors with a score of 34-0.

Excellent performances were made by many players. Kevin Brennan rushed 12 times, gaining 144 yards and scoring one touchdown. Fullbacks Lenny Panarelli and Mike Scrimo combined for 58 yards on 14 carries. Quarterback Craig Murphy was two-for-three on attempted passes and, also, was victorious scoring two touchdowns.

Other touchdowns were scored by Mike Kluge and Mike Scrimo. Kicker Frank Ticsione was five-for-five on extra point attempts.

Some great defensive plays were made by linebackers Tom Ryan, Rob Chechilo, Scrimo and Kluge, who combined for a total of 28 tackles. Brian Zuchelli led the defensive line with six tackles. The Dalers also had four interceptions by players Craig Murphy (2), Dylan Eubank and Josh Boyarsky.

The Dalers could not have done this without the great assistance of Coaches Buddy Krumenacker and Pete Cerrone. This was a great start for a successful season. Their next game is Saturday, Sept. 26 at Massapequa High School at 2 p.m. We wish the Dalers the best of luck throughout the season.
