The 5 and 6-year-old White team of Farmingdale Hawks Football on Sept. 13 won their first game of the fall season when they played the league's Yellow team.
With first posession of the ball, the Yellow team was unable to get past the White team's powerful defense. White defense was led by Hayden Kirk, who had numerous solo tackles. Next, White team's offense came out strong with a touchdown on their first offensive play by Keith Hadnagy, who ran the distance for a 60-yard touchdown with the help of his quarterback, Joe Kennedy and the dominant offensive line, Raymond Ryan, Zachary Rousselle, Mike Palmer, Anthony Ostrander and Jessie Silverstein.
Once again, white team's defense came out hitting hard with solid tackles from Hayden Kirk, Keith Hadnagy, Anthony Ostrander, Rich Godwin, Brian Donaldson, Matthew Sohmer, Mike Mitchell and Bobby McDonough.
On the final touchdown of the game, the White team's offense broke through with a tremendous run by Anthony Ostrander, which gave the White team 12-0 lead in the first half. With a 12-0 lead, the White team was forced to re-position players for the entire second half. The White team defense stood strong, leaving the yellow team scoreless for a final score of 12-0.
The coaches congratulated all the boys for their solid effort in the season opener.
