The following letter was written to Legislator Salvatore Pontillo and was sent to the Observer for publication.

Thank you for joining us at Farmingdale Head Start in celebration of the June 1 Stand for Children. We are gratified that you share our conviction that children are our greatest natural resource.

We appreciate any assistance you can render in assuring that all children receive quality child care.

When the children saw the photos of your visit they said, "Hey, there's Sal!" Your warmth and caring manner certainly came across to them.
