Who would have thought 1 goal would have won it for the Panthers, but they made it stand up for a 1-0 victory in the Waldbaum's Challenge Cup final. On Saturday, June 13, the U-11 boys soccer team from Farmingdale held on against a great team from Deer Park. Meeting for the third time this year this was the rubber game between the two teams, both winning by 2-1 scores. Chris Shishko's lone goal at the five minute mark in the first half was all the Panthers needed. Assists went to Christian Toic and Nick Switach. Nick DeRiso in goal and the Panther defense did the rest shutting down Deer Park. The Panthers offense kept the attack going all game but faced a hot goalie from Deer Park. Coaches, parents, family and friends are very proud of this group of talented boys from Farmingdale.
