Opinion

I am a member of Citizen's Campaign for the Environment, which is headquartered in Farmingdale. The great state of New York is being affected by acid rain. We, as a whole, need acid rain legislation passed now - in this session of Congress. Over 500 lakes in the Adirondacks were once beautiful, but are now lifeless due to acid rain. The midwestern power plants that are burning dirty coal and causing the acid rain problem need to be stopped.

Senators Alfonse D'Amato and Daniel Patrick Moynihan need to stress the importance of this legislation. This legislation needs to be passed now!
