Farmingdale's 4th grade PAL lacrosse team fought off a strong South Shore team in Holbrook, and defeated them 6-4. Their offense started out strong with three goals in the first quarter. Two goals by attackman Kyle Hoglund and Matthew Paulis scored his first goal of the season. South Shore fought back with two goals in the second quarter leaving a 3-2 lead going in at half time.

Early in the third quarter capitalizing on a man up situation Charlie Starke drove hard at the goalie and scored Farmingdale's fourth goal. Kyle Hoglund scored his third goal of the game after circling around the crease from behind shooting a solid shot that gave them a 5-2 lead. South Shore closed the gap to within one goal, when Farmingdale's Brendan Lazarus picked up the ball after a blocked shot and closed the door on any chance for a come back by South Shore, with a perfect shot to end the scoring in 6-4.

Farmingdale's midfielders did a great job keeping the pressure on South Shore's defense. Those players were Corey Reiser, Charlie Starke, Jordan Mosca, Brendan Lazarus, Ian Ozgercin, and Joe Marve. The attack squad that accounted for four of the goals were Kyle Hoglund, Matthew Paulis, Mike O'Halleran, Chris Rogers, Anthony Venezia, Danny Penza, and James Bungert.

Their defense played tenaciously again, led by Andrew Kohlmann who played his first complete game at goalie. Andrew had eight saves on the day, and some key saves late in the game. Defensivemen Lenny Mormino, Patrick Santoro, Kevin Sheehan, and James Bungert did an outstanding job allowing only 12 shots on goal the whole game.

The 4th graders take their undefeated record to East Meadow May 31, in hopes of continuing their fine record.
