The U-11 boys' soccer team, The Farmingdale Panthers, on April 18 kept their unbeaten streak alive by winning against the Town of VOB 3-1.

After a sluggish start by the Panthers, they found themselves trailing 1-0 to VOB. The spark the Panthers needed was provided by Nick Switach's goal from midfield bouncing over the goalie's head for a 1-1 halftime score.

The second half was all Panthers soccer: hard, aggressive play, strong passing and finishing their chances. Vito Messina made it 2-1 with assists from Switach (1 goal, 1 assist) and Jesse Nofi (2 assists). Kyle Dowd added the final tally with help from Nick DeRiso and Messina.

Once again strong play by forwards Russell Campbell, Chris Shishko, Messina, DeRiso and Nofi kept attacking throughout the entire game. Midfield play by Kenny Petersen, Derek Wilson, Dowd and Switach controlled the game in the second half. The Panther defense, led by John (Wildcat) Macaluso, John Forry, Kris Chan and Jason Quereau was relentless and shut down VOB's attack during the second half. DeRiso and Wilson shared goalkeeper duties for the win. Ray Perry did not play.
