The U12 (under 12-years-old) girls travel soccer team, Farmingdale Force, on March 28 opened their spring season with a (2-0) victory on the road against the Great Neck Wildcats.

The Force had their hands full in the first half against a tenacious Great Neck team, and despite having a strong wind at their backs were not able to convert the few scoring chances they had. In the second half going against the same wind, the Force dominated the offensive play, putting strong pressure on the Great Neck goalie, and scoring 2 goals out of many opportunities.

Katie Palmer started the scoring by converting a penalty shot from the left side of the goal, and Natalie Casino completed the scoring by kicking one in the net from her forward position. Strong offensive pressure was provided by Gina Mastadino, Nicole Sammon, Mattia Gioeli, and Ashley Mantooth. The impressive midfield play was anchored by Tammy Bloeth, Katie Palmer, Natalia Casino and Tara Williamson while outstanding defensive efforts by Lauren Ciccollela, Laura Napoli, Katie Quinn and Jessica Miller constantly turned back the Wildcats' surges and any momentum they tried to generate.

Goalkeeping duties were shared by Gabrielle Frawley and Katie Blackman who combined for the shutout. Briana Barr and Teaghan Schwartz did not play.
