Senior Citizens Reconvene January 28

After the holiday hiatus, the Farmingdale Senior Citizens Center will resume its activities at its first session in the new year, on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The group meets at the Farmingdale Public Library, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Nursery School Registration Upcoming

Registration for the Farmingdale Methodist Church Day Nursery School will be held on Jan. 27 and 28. Further information about the school may be obtained by calling Alice Harmon, director, at 293-9078.

Martin Luther King Day Celebration

The State University of New York (SUNY) at Farmingdale will celebrate the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will take place in the school's Roosevelt Hall in the Little Theatre.

The theme of the celebration is "Building Bridges of Respect: The Challenges and Benefits of Community." The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. A. R. Bernard, pastor of the New York Christian Life Centre of Brooklyn.

Dr. Bernard is the founder and president of the International Christian Brotherhood, Inc., a ministry focused on mentoring men. He has appeared on television and radio, ministered at national and international conferences, and lectured in Zimbabwe, Australia, Nigeria and England.

The Amityville High School choir will perform at the celebration. All from the community are welcome.
