Bored with noisy, smoke-filled rooms and plastic people? This singles meeting place is a wonderful alternative to the club/bar scene. $8 members, $12 nonmembers.

Every Friday, in a "living room" environment, single women and men in their 30s, 40s and 50s can meet new friends right after work. Sip herbal tea or flavored coffee, enjoy cheese 'n crackers, scrumptious cakes and pies, and have fun in a comfortable living room environment. 8 p.m. Dec. 19, 26.

Annual Toy Drive for Hospitalized Children. Donations will be collected through Dec. 20. Defensive Driving Course, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Northrop Grumman Bethpage, for drivers of all ages.
