The Holiday Lighting of the Village of Farmingdale's TriCentennial Tree will be held on Wednesday Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. on the Village Green. The East Memorial at Mill Lane Elementary School Chorus and the South Shore Brass Ensemble will present musical selections during the program. The event is being sponsored by the Village of Farmingdale, Farmingdale Public Schools, Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society, Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale, East Memorial at Mill Lane Elementary School Chorus and the South Shore Brass Ensemble.
St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Farmingdale will hold a holiday boutique on Saturday, Dec. 6 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Craft items, raffles and lunch will be available. The church is located at 298 Conklin Street.
Farmingdale High School was vandalized on Friday, Nov. 21. At about 7:30 a.m., an unknown firework was detonated, breaking a large window in the glass commons of the school, according to Nassau County Police. Police arrived at the scene at approximately 7:40 a.m., and were present at the school throughout the morning. Officers with Nassau County's crime scene van took photographs of the damage. County detectives are investigating the crime.
