For the past few weeks, Democratic, Liberal and Working Families Candidate for Town of North Hempstead Councilman, Fred Pollack, gets up at 5 a.m., turns on CNN as he gets dressed and then heads for the train stations where he spends the early morning vigorously campaigning. His day ends late, after he has performed his duties as a lawyer in Mineola ... and much more campaigning. But this is par for the course for this seasoned campaigner. Fortunately, Pollack's task is made easier because as he meets and greets the voters of the town's electorate, he has an impressive list of credentials and accomplishments to meet and greet them with.

Wayne Wink
By the time they reach high school, some students have an inkling that they would like to enter a particular field, like medicine or psychology. For Wayne Wink, it was public service. His experience as legislative assistant to Nassau County legislator Barbara Johnson from 1992 until her untimely death in 2000, only deepened his commitment. Wink is now a candidate for the North Hempstead Town Council; he is running on the Democratic, Independence, Liberal, and Working Families party lines.
