After a terrific win over Jericho at the first ever Friday night game at their home field, the Roslyn Bulldogs failed to keep up their momentum from that 30-14 triumph.
On Friday, Oct. 18, the Bulldogs traveled to Bellmore, losing to Bellmore JFK, 26-8.
The Bulldogs struck first in this road game, as quarterback Jonathan Combs scored on a one-yard run, then followed up that score with another successful run for the two-point conversion, putting Roslyn up 8-0.
The Bulldogs played Bellmore even for the rest of the game, except for the second quarter. And that is where Bellmore won the contest. Bellmore scored 20 points in the second frame to take a 20-8 lead at halftime.
A 34-yard touchdown pass from Royce Dattlebaum to Joe Karo gave Bellmore a 12-8 lead it would never relinquish. After a fumble by Roslyn, Bellmore scored another Dattlebaum touchdown pass, this one to Adrian Rose.
The Bulldogs record is now 2-4. On Saturday, Oct. 25, Roslyn returns home for a 1:30 p.m. game against Hewlett High School.
